It's that time of year again! CANCELED TOO SOON is back with SUDDENLY LAST SEASON, a whole month where we review nothing but TV shows that failed within the last year, and we're starting with one of the most acclaimed Netflix shows ever made... TUCA AND BERTIE!
From the producer of "Bojack Horseman" came an animated sitcom about two mismatched birds growing up, and apart, in a surreal world filled with unimaginable sight gags and heartbreaking emotional sincerity. Film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold explore the incredible world of TUCA AND BERTIE and decide, for the sake of posterity, whether this animated series was... CANCELED TOO SOON!

Last 30 minutes of this episode is WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION. It's content and commentary more cinemaphiles need to hear, need to be aware of, and need to take action on.
ReplyDeleteNot to take aware from the rest of the episode (solid stuff about a great C2S), but T&B is just a symptom, just an early casualty and there will be more.
Somewhere down the road, someone will have "underground" copies of entire series ripped from the internet, and piracy will sadly become the only way to reach a lot of these lost shows all over again.
This surprised me because after the episode I looked T&B up and was astonished that I recognized it. I never watched it, but I did pass by it while browsing Netflix multiple times. The biggest reason I didn't watch it is because of the animation. I absolutely abhor adult animation. I don't know why they choose the most ugly aesthetics, but rarely do I want to watch their shows after seeing their animation.
